From a festival, a dream was born
This is a land founded on the ideals of a festival. Born from the Boom Festival, Boomland has been flourishing since 2010.
Boom started in 1997 and settled in Idanha-a-Nova in 2002. On the banks of the Idanha-a-Nova dam, in a magnificent holm oak forest, in 2010, a group of people envisioned a project: a space for human transformation, where culture, art, festivals, and environmental awareness could live in harmony.
Where people from all over the world could find inspiration to transform themselves internally and promote external change in their communities.
Where the ideals of nature intersected with those of artistic beauty. Where the expansion of consciousness went hand in hand with a unique form of social organization.
Without a script, with many influences but no defined guide, this is a story built daily by lovers of culture, art, nature, who believe that it’s possible to create human models in union with the Earth and the pulse of the social economy.
Boomland hosts festivals; it is also the birthplace of an environmental regeneration project, a stage for courses and workshops, meetings, and recreational activities.
It is an open-air art gallery.
It is a living laboratory of an evolving human culture that views the interior of Portugal through the lens of cultural and environmental abundance, not scarcity.
It is a showcase of environmental technologies for cultural events.
It is a place to experience the sacred and ancestry. In symbiosis with technology.
