Boomland Courses Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions, which may be changed at any time, apply to all services available online, through any mobile device, email, or phone. By accessing, browsing, or using our (mobile) website and/or making a reservation, you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understood, and accept the terms and conditions below (including the privacy statement).
These terms and conditions are governed by the applicable law in Portugal. Idanhaculta – Associação De Desenvolvimento Social, Cultural, Recreativo e Ambiental, legal entity no. 513781323, headquartered at Herdade da Granja – Estrada de Alcafozes, s/n, Idanha-a-Nova, parish of Idanha-a-Nova e Alcafozes, (hereinafter referred to as “IdanhaCulta”) will not be responsible for any changes to the terms and conditions resulting from legislation applicable to its activity.
PRICES AND PAYMENT
The price of the courses offered by Boomland School is available on the website boomland.eu/boomland-school.
The temporary accommodation available at Herdade da Granja, s/, Idanha-a-Nova (hereinafter referred to as “Boomland”), provided by IdanhaCulta, consists of a bed in a shared dormitory. The price for this type of accommodation is available on the website boomland.eu/boomland-school.
IdanhaCulta Association offers full board accommodation during the courses. Full board prices are available on the website boomland.eu/boomland-school.
Payment for the course, accommodation, meals, and transportation services (shuttles) is made in full or through a payment plan at the time of online booking.
Reduced Price:
A limited number of spots are available at a reduced price for students, people under 25, or those who have previously participated in the Boom Festival, Being Gathering, or Boomland School. For application purposes, participants must present proof of enrollment in a vocational school or university, or proof of participation in the Boom Festival (Boomer ID), Being Gathering (Being ID), or Boomland School (Course Certificate) before payment. After verification by Idanhaculta, a discount code will be issued for use during the registration process.
Payment Plan Structure:
If the participant opts for installment payments, the following schedule applies:
- Initial Payment at Registration:
The participant must pay the full cost of accommodation, meals, and transportation, plus the first installment (1/3) of the course fee, to secure the reservation. - Second Installment:
Due by the end of the month following the initial registration date, corresponding to the second installment (1/3) of the course fee. - Third Installment:
Due two calendar months after the initial registration date, corresponding to the final installment (1/3) of the course fee.
No participant may start the course they are enrolled in without making the respective payment. Registration is only valid after full or partial payment of the course, as well as accommodation and meals.
Payment will be made by credit or debit card, in full, at the time of online booking.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellations made by the participant up to 30 days before the course start date are refundable at 90%.
Cancellations made after this date are non-refundable.
Transaction fees charged by payment operators will not be refunded.
Courses may be canceled by IdanhaCulta if the minimum number of 12 (twelve) enrollments per course is not reached.
In the event of a course cancellation based on the previous paragraph, candidates will be informed up to 30 (thirty) days before the announced course start date.
In case of cancellation, under the terms of the previous numbers, the amounts paid by the candidates will be refunded through the same payment method used, within 15 days after the cancellation announcement based on the above point.
FORCE MAJEURE
IdanhaCulta Association will not be liable for non-performance or defective performance of obligations assumed in the relationship established with participants, to the extent that they result from extraordinary or unforeseeable situations, external to the will of the contracting parties and beyond their control, such as war (declared or not), riots, civil insurrection, natural disasters, national or international general strikes, fires, floods, explosions, threats or terrorist acts, epidemics, and other situations beyond the Association’s control that prevent or hinder the fulfillment of the assumed obligations.
If, due to force majeure and beyond IdanhaCulta’s control, the course must be canceled or interrupted, participants will be informed and the reasons duly explained. The amount paid by the participant will be retained as credit and can be used in any future IdanhaCulta course at Boomland, for a period of 2 (two) years.
REGISTRATION
The selection criteria for participants result exclusively from the specific requirements of the training programs and/or the rules defined for the training programs, with no social, political, ethnic-religious, or other discrimination. The specific requirements are indicated on the registration form.
Candidates who do not meet the specific requirements will be excluded and fully refunded.
Non-selected candidates can always obtain information about the reasons for non-selection.
If the number of applications exceeds the number of available spots, candidates will be selected in order of registration, provided they meet the specific requirements. A waiting list will be created in case of withdrawals.
TRAINING SESSIONS
The training schedule varies depending on the course and project in question. The definition of schedules and training timelines is the responsibility of the pedagogical coordination. The schedule will be sent by email to registered participants.
Any changes to the schedule will be communicated to participants as early as possible.
Training sessions will only start when the minimum number of participants is guaranteed.
The attendance policy established by IdanhaCulta and the following rules apply to participants:
All absences must be communicated in writing, indicating the respective reasons, within a maximum period of two working days after the occurrence, being considered justified absences and subject to documentary evidence those resulting from:
- Death of relatives;
- Marriage;
- Assessment tests at an educational institution;
- Illness, accident, fulfillment of legal obligations, or urgent family assistance.
Absences not covered by the previous points are considered unjustified absences.
In each training action (or module), the participant may not exceed 5% of unjustified absences.
The limit of absences, justified or unjustified, may not exceed 10% of the program or course’s total hours, unless expressly indicated otherwise in writing by IdanhaCulta.
If the limit of unjustified absences is exceeded, the participant will not receive the course participation certificate.
There are courses/training programs that require 100% attendance. In these cases, the participant will be informed in advance in writing.
Participants may be required to have support materials for the training sessions, which will be communicated in advance.
EVALUATION
The following evaluation levels will be used, as applicable:
- Level 1 – Learning:
Criteria are defined to assess the learning acquired by participants during the course, focusing on the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, or behaviors, directly related to the specific objectives and duration of the training. - Levels 2 and 3:
The evaluation of the transfer of skills to the work context and the overall training results will only be implemented in specific projects, when expressly indicated in the course documentation.
Upon completion of the training, all participants will be entitled to a Certificate of Participation, provided they meet the minimum attendance requirements and complete the Level 1 evaluation.
PROGRAM
There is a program for each course to which all participants have free access. The available programs can be consulted on the Boomland School website.
In some training sessions, there are extracurricular activities for which participants can make reservations for an additional fee.
ACCOMMODATION
The allocation of beds in shared dormitories is done randomly by IdanhaCulta before the participants’ arrival, and selection on-site is not possible.
Payment is made in full at the time of online booking.
Check-in takes place between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the day before the first day of training.
The check-out time varies according to the specific course program and should occur after the farewell celebration included in the program and before the next meal time.
MEALS
Meals are provided in the Boomland courses’ dining area.
The full board option is mandatory, and cancellations, exchanges, or refunds of the selected meal option are not allowed.
Participants must choose their meal preference at the time of registration and inform IdanhaCulta by email of any food allergies.
TRANSPORTATION (SHUTTLES)
Transportation services may be provided between Castelo Branco Bus Station and Boomland.
Specific schedules will be available on the Boomland School website or by email.
Transportation must be purchased at the time of registration. Departure times may be adjusted based on participants’ arrival and departure data, and all participants will be notified of any changes.
PARKING
Parking is available on-site in a specifically designated area.
IdanhaCulta is not responsible for any damage, theft, or robbery occurring in the parking area.
RESPONSIBILITY AND TERMS OF USE
Boomland Courses are provided by IdanhaCulta – Associação de Desenvolvimento Social, Cultural, Recreativo e Ambiental, taxpayer no. 513781323, headquartered at Herdade da Granja, Estrada de Alcafozes, S/N, 6060-011 Idanha-a-Nova.
IdanhaCulta is not responsible for theft or robbery occurring within Boomland, particularly in accommodation or parking areas.
IdanhaCulta is not responsible for any accidents occurring within Boomland, in authorized or restricted areas, or resulting from the use of the lake, which is unsupervised and used at the participant’s own risk.
Circulation in restricted areas, duly marked, is prohibited.
Animals are not allowed within Boomland or in accommodation areas.
Non-accommodated persons are not allowed to enter Boomland or accommodation areas.
Vehicle circulation within Boomland is not permitted, except between the entrance and the respective parking area, and established circuits, accesses, and rules must be respected.
Blocking paths or emergency exits, as well as crossing or damaging existing fences, is prohibited.
Sound amplification devices or any others that disturb the rest of other participants are not allowed.
Making or handling fire in any form is prohibited.
Smoking inside accommodations is prohibited.
The placement of clotheslines, cables, or ropes at a height lower than 2 meters, as well as the passage of cables at any height, is prohibited.
Participants must use sanitary facilities, sinks, garbage, and recycling containers, and other infrastructures respectfully, observing hygiene, health, civility, and water and energy saving rules.
Participants must respect Boomland and accommodation rules.
Participants must respect the privacy and tranquility of other participants and the team. IdanhaCulta reserves the right to immediately cancel a reservation if these rules are not respected, there is disturbance, or non-compliance with these Terms of Use.
Refusal of stay may also imply refusal of future admissions, provided it is duly justified.
Participants are responsible for any damage caused to the accommodation or the goods provided therein and must bear the replacement costs according to the price list posted at reception.
All participants must carry one of the following identification documents: Identity Card, Citizen Card, or Passport, which may be requested for admission to Boomland and registered in a computer system for accommodation purposes.
Participants consent to their inclusion in official newsletters or other communications, as well as in photographic, visual, and audio records as audience members.
COMPLAINTS
Continuous improvement of the training process is an integral part of IdanhaCulta’s Quality Policy, promoting the monitoring of participants’ satisfaction.
Complaints are considered any expressions of dissatisfaction resulting from attitudes, actions, procedures, or logistical or material conditions that violate defined and agreed norms, harm learning, or violate the dignity and rights of the people or entities involved.
Complaints may be submitted by participants, trainers, or other stakeholders, orally or in writing.
Suggestions or complaints can be submitted directly to the training manager, via email school@boomland.eu, or through the Complaints Book.
All suggestions and complaints will be analyzed, and the respective result will be communicated, with justification, within a maximum period of 15 days.
